How to use the Lab Partner Wheel

Letting students choose lab partners reliably produces the same pairs and leaves someone standing alone. Spinning removes both problems, and mixed pairings usually produce better practical write-ups.

  • Spin two names in a row with Elimination mode on, and that is your first pair — repeat until the wheel empties.
  • With an odd number, form one group of three and note it before you start spinning.
  • Keep a record of pairings so you can deliberately avoid repeats next practical.
