Random Letter Generator FAQ
How is the letter chosen?
Each draw uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator to pick from the 26 letters, minus anything you have excluded. Every remaining letter has an equal chance of being drawn.
Can I exclude vowels or specific letters?
Yes. Tick "Exclude vowels" to remove A, E, I, O and U from the draw, and type any letters into the exclude field — for example QXZ — to remove those too. This is useful for games that specifically want consonant-only rounds.
What is word challenge mode?
Turn it on before you generate a letter and a 30-second countdown starts as soon as the letter appears. Players must think of a word starting with that letter before time runs out — a quick vocabulary warm-up for classrooms or game nights.
Can I use this for classroom games?
Yes. It works well for "name a country/animal/food starting with this letter" rounds, spelling practice, and as a quick five-minute filler activity that needs no preparation.
