Why this list already reflects the league's most recent change

The Utah team that replaced the relocated Arizona Coyotes appears here in place of the old franchise. A wheel built around an outdated roster would immediately mislead anyone using it for a real pool or a current franchise mode. Keeping the list current matters more for a sports-team wheel than almost any other kind.

Running a playoff pool assignment

Spin once per participant with Elimination mode switched on, so each team drops out of the pool once assigned and no two people end up managing the same franchise. A random assignment also means nobody in the pool can claim they deliberately picked a weak team to duck their commitment to following it.

Building a harder franchise mode challenge

Delete every team that made the playoffs the previous season before spinning, leaving only the teams that missed out. Starting a franchise save with a team that already struggled the year before forces a genuine rebuild, rather than inheriting a roster already primed for contention.
