Time Wheel

Spin a time slot for scheduling, games or random reminders.

How to use the Time Wheel

Hourly slots across a typical working day. Used to randomise a check-in time, assign meeting slots, or add unpredictability to a game that needs a time-based trigger.

  • Edit the hours to match your actual working day before using it for scheduling.
  • For a full 12 or 24-hour spinner including minutes, the Hour of the Day tool covers that range.
  • Combine with the Day of the Week wheel to generate a full random appointment slot.

Why nine slots covering a typical working day

9:00 through 5:00 covers a standard working day in nine hourly steps. That range suits most scheduling and check-in tasks without needing every hour of a full 24-hour day. Restricting it to working hours by default avoids a scheduling wheel suggesting a 2am check-in slot nobody actually wants.

Editing it to match your actual day

Adjust the hours before relying on this for real scheduling, if your working day starts earlier, runs later, or spans a different range entirely. The default nine-to-five slots exist as a common starting point, not a fixed rule. The wheel works the same way regardless of which specific hours you edit it to contain.

Randomising a check-in or meeting time

Spin to assign a check-in slot or a meeting time when the exact hour genuinely does not matter but a specific commitment is more useful than leaving it open-ended. This works well for staggering several people's check-ins across a day, since a randomly assigned slot avoids everyone defaulting to the same obvious time.

Adding unpredictability to a game with a time trigger

Spin to decide when a scheduled event happens within a game, a surprise round, a hidden deadline, an unpredictable check-in during a longer session. A randomly chosen hour adds genuine uncertainty about timing to a game mechanic that would otherwise happen at the same predictable moment every time.

Building a full random appointment slot

Combine this wheel with the Day of the Week wheel to generate both a day and an hour together, useful for randomly assigning a full appointment slot rather than just a time on an already-known day. For a wider hour range including the full 24-hour clock and minute-level detail, the Hour of the Day tool covers that broader case instead.
