Why endless scrolling is the actual problem this solves

A delivery app with dozens of nearby options does not make choosing easier, it makes it harder, since every additional option adds one more thing to compare before committing. Scrolling through the same list a second and third time rarely produces a decision, it just produces more scrolling. This wheel exists to cut that loop short by forcing a single, final answer from whatever shortlist you actually give it.

Building your own shortlist rather than a generic list

The five placeholder slots exist only to show the wheel working. Replace them with actual restaurant names you can genuinely order from tonight, pulled from a delivery app, a list of nearby places, or wherever you would actually order from. A generic "type of food" wheel cannot do this job, since the entire value here is picking an actual place, not a category.

Keeping the list honest before you spin

Remove any restaurant that is currently closed, out of delivery range, or already known to be out of a dish you wanted, before spinning rather than after. A wheel that can land on somewhere genuinely unavailable just creates a second decision, whether to accept the invalid result or spin again, which defeats the point of getting a single, final answer.

Using it to settle a group disagreement

When a group cannot agree on where to order from, have each person add their preferred option to the wheel before spinning once for the whole group. This distributes influence over the final decision fairly across everyone involved, rather than the loudest or most decisive person's preference simply winning by default.

When the decision is about food type, not a specific place

If the actual question is "what kind of food" rather than "which specific restaurant," the What to Eat Wheel handles that broader decision instead, spinning cuisine categories rather than named places. Use this wheel once you already know it needs to be a specific restaurant and just cannot pick which one.
