Why chore arguments are almost never about the work itself

Ask any household why chore division causes tension and the actual complaint is rarely "this chore takes too long." It is "why do I always get this one." The dispute is about who decides, not about the effort involved. A wheel resolves that specific complaint by removing the decider from the picture entirely. Nobody chose the split. Save the wheel and re-spin it weekly rather than trusting a fixed schedule to hold. A weekly re-spin costs seconds and prevents the slow drift back toward one person carrying most of the household's actual workload.

Using it for roommates instead of family

The same mechanic works identically for roommates splitting an apartment's chores, with one added benefit. A visible spin resolves the awkwardness of assigning chores among people who are not related, and who may feel less comfortable simply telling each other what to do. The wheel does that uncomfortable assigning instead, for free.
